I'M NEW

SUNDAYS AT RIVEROAKS

The desire to worship is created in every human. We believe that Christians are called by God through the work of the Holy Spirit for the sole purpose of glorifying and enjoying Him forever. At Riveroaks, the worship of God and the Lord Jesus Christ is our primary way of praising Him and expressing that praise as a congregation.

A member of the PCA, we are a "reformed" denomination which refers to the fact that the Holy Spirit is continuing to "re-form us as new creatures" through the process of growing more holy (sanctification) in the Lord. It also refers to the doctrines of Scripture that were rediscovered during the time of the Reformation.

SERVICES AND PREACHING

1 Hour, 15 Minutes: Service Length

25 Minutes: Sermon Length

The liturgical services and sermons at RRPC reflect these core elements:

  • The Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. It is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

  • There is one God, the Holy Trinity, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • All are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

  • Salvation is through God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save; His choice is based on His grace, not on human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

  • Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

  • The Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

STUDENTS AND CHILDREN

Riveroaks offers a variety of ministries for both members and non-members. With a myriad of activities, classes, and bible studies, our congregation has numerous ways to get plugged in.

Youth (RSM): Middle School and High School are formative years. This ministry comes alongside parents to assist them in these transitional and often tumultuous times equipping families to flourish in this world.

Children (Riveroaks Kids): We offer nine classes serving ages 2-6th grade. Each class includes a time of singing and a Bible lesson. The younger classes emphasize biblical vocabulary and teaching about God's faithfulness to his people in Bible stories. The older classes focus on the Commandments, Christ-centered living, and God's redemptive history in the Old and New Testaments.

Nursery: The Riveroaks multi-room nursery is available for children ages 0-4 years during Sunday worship services, Sunday school, and Wednesday evening activities.

Special Needs: We welcome families with special needs children. Our goal is to provide special needs children with tailored content and special care lovingly taught by trained, caring members of our congregation.
