WORSHIP AT RRPC

The desire to worship is created in every human. We believe that Christians are called by God through the work of the Holy Spirit for the sole purpose of glorifying and enjoying Him forever. At Riveroaks, the worship of God and the Lord Jesus Christ is our primary way of praising Him and expressing that praise as a congregation.

Emphasis on the reading of the Old and New Testaments, the use of the traditional and contemporary hymns and songs, and group studies of the Scriptures are important to worshiping with enthusiasm. Expository preaching of God’s inerrant Word as found in the Bible is followed in all services.

Weekly worship consists of Sunday School classes for children, students and adults (9:30), a Morning Service (10:45), and an Evening Service/Community Groups (6:00/5:00). We look forward to having you worship alongside us at Riveroaks!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The members of Riveroaks believe...

  • The Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. It is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

  • There is one God, the Holy Trinity, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • All are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

  • Salvation is through God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save; His choice is based on His grace, not on human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

  • Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

  • The Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

What We Believe

ABOUT THE PCA

The PCA is a "reformed" denomination which refers to the fact that the Holy Spirit is continuing to "re-form us as new creatures" through the process of growing more holy (sanctification) in the Lord. It also refers to the doctrines of Scripture that were rediscovered during the time of the Reformation.

The PCA representative form of church government is rooted in its name: presbyterian. Local churches are governed by elders (presbyters) elected by church members. This form of government extends through regional presbyteries and on to the national General Assembly.

DISCIPLESHIP

At Riveroaks our desire is to obey The Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19, ESV) Like Jesus modeled for his disciples, we endeavor to imitate him by building up solid followers of Jesus Christ. Riveroaks seeks to disciple believers by focusing on Christ-centered preaching/teaching and personal experience within our covenant community.

Riveroaks supports its families through serving the needs of our men, women, students and children through our Christian Education curriculum. (See Ministries)
