Worship

The desire to worship is part of each human whether it is acknowledged or not by man. We are created by God with the sole purpose of glorifying and enjoying Him forever. Yet, most of the time, we tend to look to other things and places for our happiness and enjoyment of life.

At Riveroaks we place our worship of God as the primary way of praising Him and expressing that praise as a congregation. Emphasis on the reading of the Old and New Testaments, the use of the Trinity Hymnal for congregational singing, and group study of the Scriptures are vital to Riveroaks worship.

What we believe directly affects our worship. We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises. We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Worship at Riveroaks has historically followed the great Reformed and PCA tradition of expository preaching of God’s inerrant Word as found in the Bible. The leadership of the church is committed to the current form and style of worship because of our belief that it most appropriately honors our great and holy God.
