Music Ministry
Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of his name;
Make his praise glorious!
(Psalm 66:1-2)
There are several opportunities for you to be involved in the music ministry at Riveroaks. All you need is a desire to have fun, praise the Lord, and make a joyful noise! Please contact Terry Himebook with any questions or for further details.
Riveroaks Choir
There are opportunities throughout the year to serve the Lord through singing. The primary means is through the Sanctuary Choir, which sings during the months of September through May with cantatas at Christmas and Easter (Good Friday).

The summer months feature men's and women's choirs as well as solos and ensembles. More details
here.
Handbell Choir
The Riveroaks Ringers play 1 Sunday morning each
month,
September through May, with additional opportunities accompanying the
Choir.
More details
here.
Sanctuary Orchestra
The Full
Orchestra accompanies the congregational hymns 2 Sundays mornings per
month year
round, and accompanies the Christmas and Easter cantatas.
There are also several opportunities throughout the year for soloists and ensembles to provide preludes for worship and accompany the choir. More details
here.
Children's Choir
Choirs for children in Pre-K through 6th grade rehearse every Wednesday night as part of our Heart and Soul program. They sing during the worship service on occasional Sunday mornings, and they also participate in a summer musical. More details
here.
The Shepherd’s Horn
Riveroaks
hosts The Shepherd’s Horn, a music
opportunity for the home schooled community of Memphis. Terry and Ruth Himebook provide
music education each Friday, mid-August through May, from 8:30 AM till 2:00 PM.
Currently, this includes Elementary Music Classes (K-1 & 2-5), Beginning
Band, Concert Choir (6-12), Concert Band and Jazz Band. Please see Terry
Himebook for additional information. Our Parent’s Meeting is Tuesday, August 3
at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall, with our first day of classes on Friday,
August 20.
The Village Opportunities
Pastor
Billy Spink preaches at The Village
on the first Saturday of each month. Typically, Terry Himebook leads the singing
with Ruth at the piano. There is opportunity for additional use of musicians.
In the past year, we have brought over the Choir, Handbell Choir, Orchestra,
Brass Ensemble and a men’s quartet.
