Hurricane Relief:  How You Can Help. Riveroaks is partnering with Germantown Baptist Church who is providing a temporary shelter for up to 400 people scheduled to arrive this weekend. In addition to a place to sleep, they have also committed to providing 3 meals a day and to provide basic necessities.

The list of items required to support 400 people is extensive, and the entire list of needs can be accessed on their website - www.gbconline.net. The list includes such as:  bedding, flat sheets, towels, washcloths, new pillows, air mattresses, bottled water, styrofoam cups, plates, napkins, trashbags, etc.  These items should be taken directly to the Faith building for immediate use.

The response of RRPC families to assist with Friday night's dinner has indeed been encouraging.  However, due to the shortage of  refugees assigned to us for Friday night, this week's meal has been cancelled.  Stay alert for further updates. Things change everyday -- more  needs are uncovered, others are redefined. We'll keep you posted as soon as we  know things. Thanks again for your quick and cooperative response.

Adult Sunday School Classes beginning Aug. 28, 9:30am
(1) Hebrews, Part 1: teacher, John Stephens, meets in Rm. 115. This is a study of our risen, seated, interceding High Priest who has given us a better hope, covenant, resurrection and possessions.
(2) Apologetics: An Overview of Apologetics from a Reformed Perspective - teacher, Steve Sarkisian, meets in Rm. 114.  A selection of topics to be discussed        include presuppositional apologetics and methodology, developing a Christian worldview, problem of evil, & understanding points of contact with unbelievers.
(3) Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapters 6-13: teachers, Warren Barnes, Jim Gibson, and Tim Swindell, meets in Rm. 117
(4) Knowing God, by J. I. Packer: teacher, Ford Williams, meets in Rm. 116. We will study this Packer classic for two consecutive trimesters. Already own a copy? Bring it to the first meeting.  Otherwise, books will be on sale for $10.
(5) A Pastor’s Class: teacher, Billy Spink - meets in the Parlor. This class is designed to give visitors a closer look at the ministries, history and beliefs of Riveroaks and the PCA. Visitors considering membership are especially encouraged to attend.
(6) College Class: Discussion of Contemporary Issues:  teacher, Brad Harris, will meet in the Library (a change from the original location-the Fellowship Hall)
