Community Service Opportunities
Food collection
We are collecting canned goods to donate to the Neighborhood Christian Center. Their truck makes a pick-up here on the third Thursday of each month. Please place your donations in the Coat Room on the wooden shelving unit. This is an ongoing collection throughout the year, so "give out of your abundance."
Women to Women's Ministry at Emmanuel Center
Join us at the Emmanuel Center on Wednesday mornings for a time of fellowship and discussion. The women's ministry began a few years ago. The original intent was to teach foundational principles of parenting to young inner city mothers. What evolved was a young mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers! The last two years of our ministry has focused ont he issues facing these women. We have covered a wide spectrum of topics ranging from physical to spiritual wellness. Their needs are great, and our desire to walk alongside them and show them the love of Christ.
We meet at Riveroaks on Wednesdays at 9:15am to travel downtown together. We usually return to the church by 12:00 noon.
Contact persons: Debra Newsom, Sandi Brink, Barbara Brownlee, Betty Edwards, Dorothy Gabriel, Charlotte Isbell
