Riveroaks Choir

Sanctuary Choir

The Riveroaks Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening, mid August through May. The choir sings 2 or 3 Sunday mornings each month, September through May, with cantatas at Christmas and Easter (Good Friday), plus a closing concert of the season’s favorites in May. The choir sings a variety of styles, including Classical, hymn arrangements, Spirituals, etc.., but always with the desire to lead the congregation in worship. Members of Riveroaks are welcome to join the choir.  Friends of Riveroaks are able to join, but a viable profession of faith is required.

Choir rehearsal for the 2010/2011 Season begins on Wednesday, August 18.  Rehearsal time for this year have changed to an earlier time, which is now Wednesdays 6:45 - 8:00pm.  Those unable to rehearse with the choir on Wednesdays are invited to attend an alternate rehearsal each Sunday, 5:00 - 5:40pm.  The Fall choir schedule can be found here.

The three concerts for the 2010/2011 season will be:
  • December 5 - "Mary Did You Know" Christmas cantata
  • April 22 - John Stainer's "The Crucifixion"
  • May 22 - Closing concert featuring the season's favorites

Men's Choir

“The Singing Men” of Riveroaks sing each year in June and August. This is a minimal commitment opportunity, typically involving just two or three rehearsals prior to singing. The men from the Choir are strongly encouraged to participate, while men from outside the Choir are also encouraged to sing. The Singing Men are scheduled to sing next on Sunday, August 8.

Women's Choir

Much like the Singing Men of Riveroaks, “Women in Song” is a minimal commitment opportunity, typically involving just two or three rehearsals prior to singing. The women from the Choir are strongly encouraged to participate, while women from outside the Choir are also encouraged to sing. Women in Song are scheduled to sing next on Sunday, July 25.

Women's Ensemble

The Riveroaks Ladies Ensemble is a select ensemble lead by Mrs. Dayna Camp. Typically, this ensemble sings about three times a year.

Solo/Ensemble Opportunities

The use of vocal solos, duets, quartets, etc… is encouraged at Riveroaks. Most of the singers are currently part of the choir. Typically, each soloist or ensemble is scheduled to sing two or three times each year. Please see Terry Himebook for additional information.
