Summer Musical
The summer musical serves as an opportunity for the children at Riveroaks to both sing and act. Rehearsals for the choir is each Wednesday evening (summer months) from 6:00-7:00 PM. The cast (actors and soloists) rehearse on Friday mornings from 9:30-11:00 AM. The summer's performance of “Fish Tales” was on Friday, August 6. Next summer’s musical (2011), also by Kathie Hill, is “Levite Genes.”
Sunday School Music
A team of musicians travels each Sunday morning to provide music in the elementary Sunday school classes. First, music time is held downstairs with the older children, then upstairs (nursery) with the younger children. The music includes songs from CMI and Judy Rogers. In addition, each Sunday singing time includes a “hymn of the month,”
Children’s Music Page
Each Sunday morning, the children (in their Sunday school singing time) are given a paper that includes the story behind one of the hymns from the service. In addition to the story itself, there are one or more Bible verses with scrambled words and questions to answer about the specific hymn. The children are given gum (or candy) from Terry Himebook when they show him their completed paper.
