Once again this year, Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church held its Vacation Bible School in June and challenged their participants to blaze a trail with “Upward Bound”. This action-packed VBS expedition
tracked the perilous incarnate journey of Jesus Christ from the heights of Heaven to win our salvation. ‘Guides’ led the way as young ‘Backpackers’ joyfully followed the rugged and radical ascent to the Kingdom of
God. Colorfully costumed Storytellers (the Angel Gabriel, Mary & Joseph, Gaius the Gecko, Simon of Cyrene, Mary Magdalene, and Peter) and theme-related decorations engaged all trackers throughout the week-long
adventure. Incorporating take-home Trail Journals, organized outdoor recreation, and lively singing. VBS provided a fun-filled, summertime experience where all Guides and Backpackers were directed by God’s
infallible Word, the Bible.

The Upward Bound material originated at VBS Outreach Adventures in Seattle, Washington.
Riveroaks gears its VBS for children who have completed grade Kindergarten - 5 grade. It’s not too soon to look ahead to next June when your children can expect to enjoy a fantastic week of fun and
