Carl and Becky, with MTW since 1989, are in their second term in the Czech Republic. Becky, the daughter of a retired PCA minister has known Christ as
her Savior since childhood. She felt a call to foreign missions during college. Carl grew up in Kentucky and was a chemist in Florida where he accepted Christ in 1976.
Carl and Becky were married in 1978. After graduating from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1982, Carl became pastor of Grace Presbyterian in Jackson, Tennessee. The Czech
Republic located in former Eastern Europe, was the first Protestant controlled land (1450-1620), in which 70 percent of the population were Protestant. Now more than 75 percent of Czechs are ignorant of
the gospel and claim to be agnostics or atheists. These are the results of 300 years of Roman Catholic control and 40 years of communism. The team's ministry to spread the
gospel includes church planting and nurture, seminary training, translation and printing of books, and teaching English. They are working with the historic Czech Brethren Church and a small Reformed
group.
